To give a sense of the park, to which the enigmatic traveling egrets paid their visit, here are a few photographs showing the park, the wildlife and the moods of Berkeley's Aquatic Park, revealing a little of its diverse beauty and showing its proximity to the I-80 freeway, the San Francisco Bay and the new and old Oakland Bay Bridge, as one bridge begins its life and one bridge ends its usefulness, all seen from the lagoon.

A side note, the Berkeley lagoon is a slice of the San Francisco Bay, celebrated by the explorers and hosts of writers in every category. The creation of the freeway in the 1930's cut the bay, leaving the greater bay on the western side and this jewel sliced from the bay, now in a city park, on the eastern side.

This strip of land and water is the focus of the egrets, as they open a luminous view of the land, water and air.
